Maintenance Schedules

What Is A Maintenance Schedule?

In Victoria building owners are obliged to maintain the Essential Safety Services within their building or place of public entertainment. Stokes Safety can update or prepare a Maintenance Schedule for an existing building or place of public entertainment listing the: -

Essential Safety Measures;

The Level of Performance; and

The Frequency and Type of Maintenance.

Regulation 218 & 222 - Maintenance Schedule

Relevant Building Surveyor must prepare or update Maintenance Schedule for an existing building or place of public entertainment. A Maintenance Schedule lists all the Essential Safety Measures required to be provided in a building or place of public entertainment. The Essential Safety Measures and related maintenance requirements must be listed in chronological order.

How Maintenance Schedules Prepared

A Maintenance Schedule is prepared compiling all past occupancy Permits. We carry this out by requesting archive document search with the municipal council's building department and by conducting a site visit to identify any other Essential Safety Measure items that the documents may not have identified.

Benefits of a Maintenance Schedule

Rather than referring to multiple documents, a Maintenance Schedule can amalgamate all the past maintenance determinations listed on the back of all Occupancy Permits. This procedure will result in a simple up to date document which can be referred to by building owners, maintenance facility managers and the like.
