System Interface Testing
AS1851-2012 Section 1.12. ESM frequency: Annual
Sometimes referred to as a Full Function Fire Test, the request for a member of Stokes Safety to coordinate or witness a System Interface Test is becoming more commonplace. The lack of understanding of Smoke Management Systems, components, or the integration of systems varies significantly between Specialist Suppliers and States as does who is responsible for testing some aspects often reveals upon the first test justifying our engagement. Confusion is compounded by the lack of baseline data such as a Fire Matrix or other such baseline data.
How Can Stokes Safety Help?
In the absence of a Fire Matrix or similar, we draw on our extensive knowledge and experience to extrapolate a methodology. When some detail or description of operation exists, we can build a site Cause & Effect Chart which pulls together each active Essential Services item
(FIRE, HVAC, EWIS, Generators, VT, etc) into a centralised document clearly displaying the action of each system to an alarm condition ineach zone.
